Athletes facing lockdown

Suspended. The NBA, Premier League, Olympic Games.. seasons ended as the world approached lockdown as the Covid-19 pandemic gathered pace.
Arenas, stadiums, tracks and gyms were forced to close their doors.
Professional athletes locked out.
The resilience that perhaps propelled them to the top of their sport, separated them from their peers, shone through again. They were forced to train within the regulations. Their ingenuity saw garages turned into make-shift gyms, parks into training grounds and amphitheatres, back-gardens into 30,000 all-seaters.
Athletes did what they’ve always done. They carried on by any means.
